Draw Me a River is a challenge I’ve set myself to draw one random thing every day. I’ve always loved drawing, but I’ve always dipped in and out of it. My thinking is that one quick sketch each day will help me to focus and get really creative!

Let me know if you’re doing a similar thing, I’d love to see!

If you’re interested in that kind of thing you can also find my vintage blog here. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, and please credit me and link back to my blog if you repost any of my pictures, the copyright remains mine. Thanks!

  1. Drawing something every day will definitely be a good though challenging practice. I have been pressured to do the same. I have my reasons why I resist. Had I practiced daily and not had my work threatened as a child, I might be a better artist today. But, there is such a thing as burnout. And, no one should feel guilty if they go a day or week or even a few months without creating. But, a year without at least one season of being creative seems criminal to the soul.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I’ve already failed at my drawing every day challenge, as you say I think it’s probably counter-productive to force yourself to draw every day if you’re really not in the mood, but I will try and do it more days that not otherwise I’ll never improve!

      1. I guess my philosophy is that I will improve when the timing is right. Otherwise, I could guilt myself into no creative activity because of all the practice time I missed.

Part of my problem is storage space and protecting my work from all sorts of unpleasant situations. I am just getting too old and tired of fighting to protect my work, even if it’s just for practice. And, there’s only so much space to store my work. Not everything can be stashed away on a hard drive.
