I’m the best there is at what I do… but what I do isn’t very nice. I’m the Wolverine.
Do people need to be broken, tortured personalities to become superheros?
Apparently so. While there are a few notable exceptions, (Superman and Thor are both fairly well adjusted superheroes) they are both basically aliens.
Everyone human who becomes a superhero does it because they have either a grudge, a crappy life, or something to prove. A few examples: Batman (murdered parents + too much time on his hands), Spiderman (nerd who gets to make all the bullies pay), Iron Man (bright light thingy instead of a heart who is a bit of an egocentric megalomaniac), and of course Wolverine: who was experimented on and thinks the world hates him because he’s a mutant.
The pain lets you know you’re still alive
*rolls eyes* Come on Wolvie, lighten up! Sure some people hate you, but at least half the population fancy the pants off you, so why not look for the positives? Chill out and smell the coffee and life probably wouldn’t seem so bad…
I’m coming for blood; no law, no code of conduct. You put me in the right direction, you get the hell out of my way.
Oh for a superhero with a sense of humour! Can anyone think of one? And no, the Joker doesn’t count!
